La Paz-Topolobampo temporary schedule change

From Baja Nomads forum

La Paz-Topolobampo temporary schedule change

FYI: Just got back from the mainland on the Topolobampo (Los Mochis) - La Paz ferry. The ticketing office for Baja Ferries has a flyer at the counter informing of the following schedule change: Until the end of the month, there is no ferry service from Topolobampo to La Paz on Saturdays, and no ferry from La Paz to Topolobampo on Sundays. Daily service is scheduled to resume in March.

Hi! I was wondering, did you take a vehicle with you? If so, were you able to access it during the trip? I am going the end of the month and am taking a vehicle and my two dogs. I'm hoping to be able to access them and run the a/c in the car in case it get too hot. Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!

When I went in 2005, pets were not allowed. Now I see they are. Car parking is below decks and you are not allowed to stay in the car. I believe they close access to the parking level while underway. At about 3 decks down I don't think heat will be an issue

Hi!
Is there still a bus that goes from the ferry dock into La Paz? Or is a taxi the only way to get there?

Thanks!

DO YOU NEED AN AMERICAN PASSPORT TO GET IN THE FERRY FROM MAZATLAN TO LA PAZ?

Many non US people use the service (including Mexicans). You just need a valid Mexican Visa and ID from where ever you are from

Baja Ferries sails from La Paz to Topolobampo and from La Paz to Mazatlan. They took over the Mazatlan run from Sematur as of April 2005.

You can always try for current prices and schedule at the Baja Ferries Web Site
